Intro to Bid Analytics: Reporting 101

This is a high level view of RhinoDox's reporting dashboards, their capabilities, and functionality.

Getting Started

RhinoDox's Bid Analytics is a collection of dashboards available to Professional tier customers. The data in your dashboards is pulled together from all of the information that you've entered into your proposals and is updated every single day, on the hour. You can find the Analytics page by clicking 'Dashboard' on the left side of the screen.

When you click 'Dashboard' you'll be directed to the 'Weekly Estimating' dashboard, which is the first page of the analytics dashboard options. You can select other dashboards by clicking the dropdown button in the top left corner and clicking on any of the selections:

Each dashboard consists of a group of filters at the top of the page, and a variety of tables and charts throughout the rest of the page. The filters at the top will effect the data displayed throughout the rest of the page.

If you are spending a good amount of time analyzing your data in RhinoDox, you may encounter an error screen like the one below:

Don't panic! This is a normal occurrence - this just means your data is updating. The system resyncs your data every hour, on the hour. Just pause what you're doing for about one minute to allow the system some time to complete it's update, then refresh the page and click the "Reset Filters" button under the filters.

Overview of Dashboards

Each of the dashboards serves its own function within the realm of reporting. Let's take a look at what each dashboard can tell you about your data, your business, and your history.

Weekly Estimating

This is a compilation of what your company has done in the past week. You can see a total count of proposals and budgets created, and the total value associated to those projects created. Watch the video below for a look at this dashboard and how to use the filters to find a specific set of data in the dashboard:

Company Overview

Similar to the Weekly Estimating dashboard, however the Company Overview can provide a more detailed view of your performance and behavior in RhinoDox. At a glance the widgets will show you your Wins, Losses, Hit Ratio, Current Pipeline, Budgets, and financial details broken out by project status. Click here to read a detailed article about how these numbers are calculated from your data.

This dashboard also allows users to dive deeper into specific areas of their data and slice and dice more thoroughly than any other dashboard. Watch the video below for an example of digging into company performance with specific GCs and how you can download that information to use outside of RhinoDox:

Backlog

In the purest sense of the word, Backlog in RhinoDox essentially means "Jobs you've won." So you can look at your Backlog page as a collection of Won jobs in your past, present, and future to maximize your bid output at strategic times to both fill out your calendar and avoid being stretched too thin by over bidding. In this dashboard, the determining piece of data for a Won job is it's Start Date and End Date. Those fields are what will allow you to forecast and build out your calendar. See the video below for more information:

Budgets

Since examining budgets is a relatively minor feature within other dashboards of RhinoDox, we figured they need their own specific page now. You will only find projects with the proposal type set as 'Budget' here - you can segment and download the same way you can on other pages. Check out an example of using the Budget dashboard below:

Missing Information

It is crucial to make sure as much information as possible is captured for each proposal if you want your data to be fully fleshed out and accurate. We understand no one is perfect and sometimes things are just simply forgotten - no worries. You can find all of your projects that are missing crucial data in the 'Missing Information' dashboard. Watch the video below to see an example of how to use this page and click here to read about the Missing Information dashboard in more detail
